Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai organizing One Day National Workshop on “IoT Based Smart Monitoring And Control System” collaboration with Gemicates Labs (Progress Through Innovation) held on 22nd Feb 2020. This Workshop is mainly intended for students currently doing projects and those who are interested to take up projects in the field of embedded systems with enabling IoT technology. The workshop aims to upgrade their technical skills with Hand-on Experience in the emerging field of IoT(Internet of Things).

The Workshop Focus on
This workshop is intended to provide practical knowledge for the
faculty members, research scholars and enthusiastic students to
upgrade their technical skills on an emerging field that is “Internet of Things”.

The key features of this workshop are as follows:

1. Introduction of Embedded Systems, Internet of Things (IoT).
2. Designing of power supply circuit in simulation.
3. Explanation of NodeMCU board and Arduino programming.
4. Different types of sensors (IR Sensor, LDR, Ultrasonic sensors…) interfacing with the Node MCU.
5. Network Configuration(Ap Mode and Station mode).
6. Advanced peripheral interfacing techniques(Actuators, Motor
   Drivers etc..).
7. Creating a Web Server on NodeMCU and controlling the devices
   with a web interface.
8. Presentation and Live demo for networking Concepts internet protocols HTTP and MQTT protocols.
9. Dynamic and Static IP configuration.
10. PCB Design for power supply circuit.
