Link PAN Card with Aadhaar Through online

The deadline to link your PAN Card with your Aadhaar Card has been extended several times. As per the latest notification, the Income Tax Department has said that Permanent Account Number (PAN) will become inoperative if not linked with Aadhaar by March 31, 2020. Hence, if you haven’t linked your PAN Card with your Aadhaar card earlier, then you must link it within the given time.

Earlier, As per the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notification, it was defined that if you did not link your PAN Card with your Aadhaar card by December 30, 2019, your PAN Card will become invalid. However, as per the new rule, if the PAN card and Aadhar are not linked by the end of March 2020 then your PAN will become inoperative from April 1, 2020. Though the government is yet to define what it means by the term ‘inoperative’.

How to link Aadhaar number with PAN using e-Filing portal

Step 1: Login on e-Filing portal using your registered username and password.

Step 2: After login, you will get the “link Aadhaar” option under the ‘Profile Settings’.
After completion of registration check your PAN-Aadhar card status. CLICK below URL:https://www1.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-FilingGS/Services/AadhaarPreloginStatus.html

NOTE: The Aadhaar number will be linked with PAN if your name and date of birth are identical to Aadhaar and PAN.
